Finzi Award Auditions

Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 1PM to 4PM

Application Eligibility:

1. Current member of the Los Angeles Chapter, American Harp Society.
Please note: Membership must be current as of April 1, 2019.
(Current dues year for AHS-LA is September 20189 - August 2019.)
(Membership in national AHS does not include membership in L.A. Chapter.)

2. Resides in the greater Los Angeles area OR studies regularly with a teacher
who is a resident member of the Los Angeles Chapter.

3. Not yet enrolled in college.

4. Eighteen years of age or younger as of April 7, 2019.

5. Available to perform at Spring Fling, May 5, 2019 in La Cañada Flintridge.

Audition Requirements:
Two solo pieces of contrasting style by memory, 7 minutes total maximum.
A minimum of two years of harp study is recommended.
All pieces should be well within the applicant’s musical and technical capability.
Applicants must provide judges with the publisher’s editions of all pieces
(use of unauthorized copies of copyrighted music will disqualify applicant).
A pedal harp will be provided, but candidates are encouraged to
bring their own harp.
A warm-up room will be available.
Candidates are responsible for tuning.

Application deadline is April 1, 2019.
