Our gracious hostess of many AHS-LA events, Dorothy Victor, once again opened her harp-strewn Beverly Hills home to our members and members' guests, to celebrate another new year full of wonderful harp events. We enjoyed cocktails, played for each other, and shared a POTLUCK DINNER.
This year, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1962 founding of both the (national) American Harp Society and the Los Angeles Chapter!! Catherine Gotthoffer, one of the original founders of our chapter (and a former president of the national AHS, and the recipient of the AHS 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award), spoke to us about the early days, including her studies at Juilliard with Marcel Grandjany, who chaired the founding committee of the AHS.
