On May 16, 2015, the Los Angeles Chapter held a festive Spring Fling, to support the Valeria Finzi Memorial Scholarship Fund. The young recipients of this year's scholarships (Erin Kim and Annette Lee) as well as two of the three Honorable Mention students (Faith Ellzey and Julianne Jimenez) performed the pieces they had played at the scholarship auditions, to an appreciative audience, in the graceful Beverly Hills home of the Stein-Goldfeder family. (The third honorable mention student was Stella Siebelink). Following the students' remarkably polished and musical performances, we were treated to a delightful program by the duo known as "Harp and Koto Stories", Hitomi Suzuki and Saeko Fujiraoka, who performed their own arrangements of music ranging from Japanese traditional songs, to movie themes, to baroque-flamenco! A lavish reception followed. Attendees enjoyed celebrating the accomplishments of the young people and visiting with fellow harp enthusiasts!
